Democrats and the media (but I repeat myself) have worked hard to paint Republicans as racists. For anyone with even a tiny bit of understanding of history, this is laughable. It could well be listed as the very definition of chutzpah! The Democrats WERE the South, fighting to maintain slavery. They presided over Jim Crow, the state sponsored subjugation of Blacks for 100 years in the South, and finally, voted against every single attempt to remove the oppression of Jim Crow in the late 50's and '60s.
When these facts are pointed out, they scream "Nixon's Southern Strategy"! This article exposes that as just another pedestrian leftist lie.
We can go to that "civil rights champion" LBJ to at least understand the Democrat Southern Strategy!
